Helen Fay Harris

Herrin - Helen Fay Harris, 89, died at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at Herrin Hospital. She was born May 9, l912 in Massac County, IL to Willard Donald and Josephine (Wood) Almon. She first married Aubrey Albright on September l3, l933 in Brookport, IL. He died in l957. She then married Charles Harris on February 21, l963 in Boaz, IL. He died April 3, l989. She was a longtime Deputy Clerk for Williamson County in the County Clerk's office. She was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Whiteash where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of Herrin Senior Citizens; she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. Helen had a huge heart and enjoyed helping other people. She helped in the Day Center of her church and always found time for others. Survivors: Several nieces and nephews Several great nieces and nephew Several cousins Special Friend - Frances Blackly - Herrin Her parents, and husbands preceded her in death. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Rev. Bill Schell will officiate. A visiting hour for family and friends will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. on Saturday. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Memorials may be made to Williamson County Programs on Aging and will be accepted at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
