Helen L. Spaulding

Marion- HELEN LOUISE SPAULDING, age 90, of Marion, passed away at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Delmar Gardens West in Chesterfield, Missouri. Helen was born in Marion on August 23, 1918, the daughter of Oscar and Sarah Ida Sally (Jeter) Greathouse. She married Kenneth G. Spaulding in Indiana in 1955. He preceded her in death in 1969. Mrs. Spaulding worked as a dietician, having graduated from Northern Illinois University at DeKalb. She enjoyed being an active member of the Salvation Army. Survivors include her step-son- Scott Spaulding of Clearwater, FL; Nephew- Mike Greathouse and his wife Winnie of St. Louis, MO; Nephew- David Ball; and Niece- Caroll Ball. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Kenneth, her brother- J.R. Greathouse; three sisters- Thelma Greathouse, Ailene Grimes and Eleanor Ball; Nephew- Mark Greathouse; and Niece- Roberta Duncan. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, September 15, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. David Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
