Helen Strobel

Marion Helen Strobel, 77, of Sebring, Florida formerly of Marion, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2008 in Sebring. Helen was born August 8, 1930 the daughter of Karl and Mattie (Odum) Wallace in Harrisburg. She married Amos Strobel on November 7, 1948 in Harrisburg and together they have shared over 59 years of marriage. She was a homemaker, a member of Zion United Church of Christ and D.A.R. Chapter in Marion. In Florida she was a past Treasurer, Vice Regent and Chapter Regent of D.A.R. Patriots Chapter in Sebring, where she served as State Chairman of Credentials and also the Seimes Technology Center State Chairman. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. She is survived by: Husband Amos Strobel of Sebring, FL Son Stephen L. Stroebel of Winter Garden, FL Son Lynn O. Strobel of Marion Daughter Pamela Suzanne Suzie Gentry of Avon Park, FL Five Grandchildren Nine Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Fluke officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 2:30 at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to The Zion United Church of Christ, Shriners Childrens Hospital or Daughters of the American Revolution, Sebring Florida Chapter.
