Marion Helen Virginia Boyd, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 3:30 P.M. at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Helen was born March 10, 1920 in Deer Run, West Virginia to Fred & Myra (Lough) Eye the oldest of seven children. She married Francis Marion Boyd on December 15, 1940 in the Brookfield Church and together they have shared over 66 years of marriage. Helen was a devoted Mother, she loved to sew and knit and enjoyed quilting. Along with her husband she loved to camp and garden. They moved to Marion in 1979, she was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Husband Francis Boyd of Marion Daughter Joann Doelitzsch and husband Dennis (Dutch) of Marion Two sons; Kenneth Boyd and wife Gayle of Grand Ledge, Michigan Charles Boyd and wife Virginia of Centrailia, Washington Five Grandchildren; Dinah Troutner and husband Sean of Marion Deanna Deiters and husband Henry of Marion Brandon Boyd and wife Marinda of Centrailia, Washington Brian Boyd and wife Kristen of Chandler, Arizona Kristin Carpenter and husband Mike of Grayslake, Illinois Eleven Great Grandchildren Brother William Eye Three Sisters; Reba Read Lucille Herman Geneva Looft Preceded by Parents, Brothers George Eye and Archie Eye Funeral services will be Friday, April 20, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Joy Perry and Rev. April Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 20th from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the National Diabetes Association or the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at Mitchell-Hughes.
