Henry "Hank" Curl

Marion- Henry Hank Curl, 85, of Marion, passed away at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Hank was born on July 5, 1923 in Dallas, TX to Thomas and Charley (Maner) Curl. He married Margaret Huth on April 8, 1949 in Savannah, GA. She preceded him in death on December 13, 1999. He retired as a Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force after twenty six years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. Hank was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. He was also a member of the Herrin American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War. Survivors include- Several nieces & nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son- Patrick Curl and three brothers. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Military rites will be performed at graveside by the Herrin American Legion and VFW Posts. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM, until time of service, Wednesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
