Herbert “Dee” Reynolds, 87, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 1:25 am at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Dee was born August 26, 1928 in Eddyville, Illinois the son of Forrest and Alberta (Broadway) Reynolds. He married Doris Richardson on July 30, 1950 in Chester and together they have been blessed to share over 65 years of marriage.
He proudly answered the call to serve his country in the Army during the Korean War. Dee was a member of the Marion Second Baptist Church, served on the Marion Memorial Hospital Board. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Eddyville Lodge #672, was active as an advisor in the Marion Explorer Post #25 for many years. Dee was a field service technician for Western Union, he was with the company for over 38 years beginning as a telegraph lineman, evolving to servicing the teletype machines and the State Police computer systems. After his retirement he opened his own business in Marion, Little Egypt Electronics, selling and installing security and alarm systems.

Justin Green and wife Sarah of Lexington, North Carolina
10 Great Grandchildren and one more on the way, the eldest, Austin, along with all of the family members, assisted he and his wife in his later years.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 1 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by members of the Marion VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and the National Guard Detail Unit. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Masonic services will be Wednesday evening at 6 pm, presented by the Eddyville Masonic Lodge #672,
