Marion Hilda Louise Herring, 87, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. at the River to River Residential Community.
Hilda was born December 28, 1923 in Marion the daughter of Artie and Vernie (Barringer) Herring. She was married to George W.T. Crain for 18 years and together they had seven children. Her last 30 years were spent with her companion Bill Ward from Thompsonville, who she loved dearly.
Her enjoyment was flower gardening when she was able and spending time with Bill at Cracker Barrell and summer ball games at the park. She enjoyed traveling through Southern Illinois and she formerly rode motorcycles.

Preceded by her Parents and two siblings
Funeral services will be Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
