Horace Henry Thomas Rye

Johnston City- Horace Henry Thomas Rye, 78, of JohnstonCity, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 19, 2013.  Horace was born on December 19, 1935 in Tennessee to Elmer and Bessie (Yarborough) Rye.  He was a self made man who worked in various positions within manufacturing before opening Rye’s Produce.  In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but most of all he loved fishing for whatever was biting in the pond or lake closest to him.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  Survivors include-  Son- Thomas Rye and wife Leotta of Herrin Daughter- Katherine Underhile and husband Frank of Houston, TX Son- Keith Rye of Palm Desert, CA Son- Russell Rye of Goreville Daughter- Gail Parker of Houston, TX Seven Grandchildren Seven Great Grandchildren One niece- Rhonda  He was preceded in death by his parents, son- Mark Rye and one brother- Rodney Rye.  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 23, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Rev.
