Howard and Luella Jones

Marion-HOWARD FRANK JONES, age 85, of Marion, passed away at 10:32pm on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Carrier Mills Nursing Home. Howard was born in Benton on February 14, 1927, the son of Harvey and Paula (Ligon) Jones. He married Luella Gates. Luella passed away less than three hours after Howard. Mr. Jones was a retired coal miner at Freeman #4. He was the former maintenance supervisor for the school district. LUELLA (GATES) JONES, age 84, of Marion, passed away at 1:00am on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. Luella was born in Harrisburg on July 18, 1928, the daughter of Clyde and Freida (Moore) Gates. She married Howard Frank Jones. Howard preceded her in death by less than three hours. Mrs. Jones was a retired special education teacher. Survivors include two sons- Alan and Jackie Jones of Marion Monte and Carol Jones of Benld, IL Daughter- Terri and David Murphy of Marion Six Grandchildren- Kistin and Jeff Lober of Marion Wendie and Bob Rongey of Marion Samantha and Devan Christopher of Marion Mallory Jones of Marion Matthew Murphy of Marion Phillip and Paula Murphy of Marion Eight Great Grandchildren They were preceded in death by their parents and daughter- Gayle Dianne Jones. Graveside services for Howard and Luella will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.
