Herrin- Ida Mae Reams, 81, of Herrin, passed away peacefully at 2:53 AM, Saturday, June 10, 2006 at home with her family. Ida was born on April 21, 1925 in Jackson County to William & Mana Wallace. She married Leon Reams on July 27, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He survives of Herrin. Mrs. Reams was a homemaker and an active member of the Carbondale Church of God for twenty three years. She enjoyed her family and the outdoors, especially time spent fishing with Leon on many of the areas lakes and ponds. SURVIVORS: Husband- Leon Reams- Herrin Daughter- Barbara DeWitt- Hammond, IN Son & Daughter in law- Richard & Tammy Reams- Oneonta, AL Daughter & son in law- Wanda & Dennis Dean- Wimumma, FL Daughter & son in law- Rose & Jessie Kerrigan- Freeman Spur Daughter & son in law- Patty & Frank Farmer- Herrin Daughter & son in law- Kim & Jim Smith- Ashkum, IL Son & daughter in law- Mike & Becky Reams- Carterville Thirty One Grandchildren Thirty Six Great Grandchildren Three Great Great Grandchildren Many nieces and nephews & great nieces and nephews Special Friends- Pastor Manuel & Linnie Mae Jackson, Rev. Gilbert & Nancy Gee, and Rev. Don Colson She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastor Manuel Jackson & Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Monday, June 12, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to a charity of the donors choice and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
