Herrin - Ina Lorene Hernbeck Sanders, 87, went to meet her Lord and Savior and all her other loved ones who have gone on before at 10:39 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.
She was born at home to William C. "Pop" and Myrtle "Mom" Hernbeck in Harco, IL on June 10, 1915.
She married A. N. "Buster" Sanders on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, l934 in Marion. They were married for 59 years when he passed away January 26, 1994. He had been a Baptist minister for over 50 years.
Besides raising five children, she was very talented in many crafts, including China painting in her later years and sewing clothes for her family. She held several jobs in the churches her husband pastored. She had a beautiful alto voice. She sang for the Lord in various groups and sang solos. She served as President of the Herrin Woman's Club and was Activity Director for Hampton Nursing Home on South 14th Street. She and her husband lived at 301 South 13th in Herrin for almost 50 years. The house was later sold to Herrin Hospital.
She was a member of the Christian Life Center in Herrin. While she lived with her daughter she attended Community of Faith Church.

Her parents, husband, one daughter, Norma Jean Hill, two sons, Larry Del Sanders, Dexter Bill Sanders, one brother, William "Bill" L. Hernbeck and three sisters in infancy, one grandson, Blair Hill and son in law Ray Griffith preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Ted Pavloff will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Christian Life Center Building Fund, The Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson Hughes, PO Box 429, Herrin, IL 62948.
All are invited to join the family for a meal provided by Community of Faith Church at 1105 North Refuge Road Carterville, Route 148 South of Route 13.
