Irene Dodig

Marion-Irene Dodig, 80, died 1:05 A.M., Monday, May 29, 2006 at Country Acres Assisted Living in Marion. Irene was born August 19, 1925 in Franklin County to Oscar and Opal (Burton) McClellan. She married Frank Lee Dodig in February, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1998. Irene was a homemaker and a member of Lake Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: Son Rodney Lee Dodig of Carbondale Daughter Rita Woods and husband George of Marion Two Granddaughters: Amy Kirkpatrick and husband David of Warsaw, IN Sarah Smiley and husband Edward of Gastonia, NC Three Grandchildren: Grant and Ryan Kirkpatrick Kathryn Smiley Two Sisters: Marion Kramer of North Dakota Vinida Ramsey of Johnston City Brother Donald McClellan of Marion Preceded by Parents, Husband, Brother Oscar McClellan A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at Lake Creek Baptist Church with Howard Stearns officiating. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is handling arrangements. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or The Alzheimers Association.
