Marion- Isabel “Billie” (Shannon) Fryer, age 98, of Marion, passed away peacefully at her home in Marion at 3pm on Friday, July 16, 2021 with her loving family at her side.
Isabel was born in Norfolk, Virginia on June 12, 1923, the daughter of Rosa (Outlaw) and Henry Clay Shannon, Jr a respected attorney and an Administrative Assistant to US Congressman and Senators on Capital Hill and originally from Duplin County, North Carolina.
She was originally married to Ralph Marbury Stamp Jr. She then remarried Clifford H. Taylor and after his passing married Colin John Fryer who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her longtime loving companion, Richard Macon Watson.
A special woman of grace, Billie was a loving identical twin, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a kind and caring friend to many over the years. From childhood, she taught her family kindness and love by example as well as sportsmanship learned from early years playing tennis with her father and which became one of her joys.
She left her physical self extremely quiet and peaceful dressed in a fitting outfit and as beautiful as ever. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her, but her family knows, she will always be but an arms length away.

Nephew- Larry and Anna Fornia of Miami, FL
Niece- Mary Lou Buczkiewicz of Huntley, IL
Preceded by her Parents, Husbands – Clifford H. Taylor, Colin John Fryer and her companion – Richard Macon Watson.
Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Maryland. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.
