Marion- Isabel Henrietta Broemmel, 98, formerly of 701 Kenwood Ave & St. Vincent
Home, died at 6:50 AM, Friday, August 19, 2005 at Heartland regional Medical Center in Marion, IL.
Isabel was born on August 1, 1907 in Quincy, IL, a daughter of G. Henry & Elizabeth (Sander) Boesing. She married Lawrence H. Broemmel on October 12, 1935 in St. John Catholic Church in Quincy. They enjoyed almost seventy years of marriage before his death last March 11, 2005.
After his death she moved to an assisted living facility in Marion where she was near her two sons and their families.
Before Isabels marriage she graduated from Gem City Business College in Quincy and was employed by the State Savings and Loan in Quincy.
She was an active member of St. Solanus Catholic Church in Quincy. She was also a member of Ladies of St. Francis, St. Francis Quilters, Senior Funeral Choir, and Womens City Club. She was a volunteer Gray Lady at St. Mary Hospital for over forty years and later was a volunteer at Blessing Hospital. In earlier years, she was a member of St. John Dramatic Club and the K of C Choral Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Pauline Frericks, Esther Boesing and Afra Peters Simonson, and brothers; Bertram & Jim Boesing.
The funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2005 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM, Friday, August 26, 2005 at Duker-Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy and from 9AM until time of service, Saturday at the church. A parish prayer service will be recited at 5:30 PM, Friday. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
