Marion James J.O. Hudgens, 80, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 10:20 P.M. at the VA Medical Center.
J.O. was born May 27, 1926 in Marion to Henry Tine and Allean (Evans) Hudgens. He married Lodema Parrish on May 30, 1947 in Marion and together they shared over 57 years of marriage until her death on July 25, 2005.
J.O. was a Navy veteran, having proudly answering the call to serve his country during WWII. He was retired from Ameren CIPS after 36 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Marion VFW Post #1301, Masonic Chapel Hill Lodge #719 A.F. & A.M., 40 year member of I.B.E.W. #702, and a member of 1st Christian Church of Herrin. J.O. was a member of the West Frankfort Community #168 school board for two terms, from 1961 1969, where he served as president his last term.

Funeral services will Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ron Henwood officiating. Burial will follow in Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Military rites will be performed by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and the National Guard. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be performed at 7:00 P.M. by Marions Fellowship Lodge #89 A.F. & A.M.
