J. Ruth Fish

Marion-Jennie Ruth Fish, 98, died at 11:20 A.M., Sunday, November 27, 2005 at Pleasantview Nursing Home in Morrison, Illinois. Ruth was born October 21, 1907 to Eddie Z. and Ettie (Bradley) Lyerla in rural Creal Springs. She was the last surviving of 10 children. She married Robert Delos Fish on April 7, 1928 in Independence, Missouri and he preceded her in death in September 1935. Following his death Ruth returned to her family in Marion with her three daughters. Ruth worked for several years in the cafeteria of McDonell-Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a lifelong member of Christadelphian Church in Marion, while her health allowed she volunteered at the kidney dialysis center and was a helping hand to many people. Survivors include: Three Daughters: Mary C. Gabriel and husband William R. of Grain Valley, Mo Arlena M. Ottosen and husband Jack of Morrison, IL Ursula R. Richey of Marion Eleven Grandchildren Nineteen Great Grandchildren One Great Great Grandchild Preceded by: Parents, Husband, Brothers Vinnie, Aaron, Eric, Artie & Ollen, Sister Dona, and three who died in infancy, Son-in-law Julian Richey. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Randy Kniffin officiating. Burial will follow in Cocke Cemetery, rural Williamson County. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
