Jack E. Sherertz

Marion Jack E. Sherertz, 80, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 1:10 P.M. at Herrin Hospital. Jack was born March 09, 1925 to Troy E. & Mable (Hipple) Sherertz in Herrin. He married Betty J. Deaton on April 29, 1950 in Piggott, Arkansas and together they have shared the last 55 years. Betty survives in Marion. Jack was a farmer, worked in construction and was an oil distributor. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local Union #318. He was a 32 Degree Mason of Williamson Lodge in Carterville. Jack is survived by: His Wife Betty of Marion, Son & Daughter-in-law Larry & Sharon Sherertz of Marion Grandson Josh Sherertz of Marion Sister Betty & Denzil Speers of Marion Niece - Sharon Askew & husband David of Marion Niece Nancy Hicks & husband E. Alan of Freeburg, IL Nephew - Mike Sherertz & wife Sherry of Terre Haute, IN Nephew - Rusty Deaton & wife Shandie of Marion Nephew - Mike Deaton & wife Debbie of Christopher Nephew - Greg Deaton of Marion Nephew - Doug Deaton & wife Melinda of Marion Preceded by: Parents, Brother Bobby D. Sherertz Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Todd Hawk officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children. Envelopes will be available at Mitchell-Hughes.
