Freeman Spur- Jackie Lee Restivo, age 62, of Freeman Spur, went to be with the Lord at 2:54am on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at his home in Freeman Spur.
Jackie Lee was born in Herrin on March 17, 1945 to Cottie and Fern (Dare) Restivo who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his sister, Mary Orosco and his brothers, Joseph Restivo and James Babe Restivo, and one uncle, Jim Dare.
Jackie lived in Freeman Spur with Sara Ann Restivo, his wife of 25 years. He was well respected and was a true inspiration to his children, who witnessed his battle during a long term illness.

Jackie spent the last fifteen years of his life serving the Village of Freeman Spur and its citizens as Police Chief, Fire Chief, and Mayor. He was a member of the American Legion and the Coalition of Fire Departments. Jackie Lee enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and had a passion for practical jokes. Those who know him will say, He fought till the end!
Funeral services for Mr. Restivo will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Rev. Don Colson and Rev. Harold McClare officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Friday, April 27, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
