Jacqueline (Jackie) Payne

Herrin Jacqueline Jackie L. Payne, 76, died at 10:55 P.M. on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Friendship Care Center. Jackie was born March 4, 1931 in Carterville to Amos Curry & Margarite (Smith) Klumchik. She married Joe Payne on May 17, 1947 in Piggott, Arkansas and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Joe survives in Herrin. Jackie was a homemaker and she attended Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church. She had previously worked at Norge, Goodluck Glove Factory, the assembly line at Smolers and Sangomo Electric. She is survived by: Husband Joe Payne of Herrin Daughter Kathy Joline Leeper and husband Gary of Carbondale Three Grandchildren Ten Great Grandchildren Several Cousins Preceded by Her parents, Daughter, Linda Kay Payne Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin will be handling the arrangements.
