James C. Strunk

Herrin- JAMES C. STRUNK, age 83, of Herrin, passed away at 12:05am on Friday, October 31, 2008 at Herrin Hospital. James was born in Williamson County on March 26, 1925, the son of James and Etta (King) Strunk. He retired as plant manager from Midwest Brush in Marion. Mr. Strunk was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Herrin Kiwanis Club. Survivors include two daughters- Lanetta Jo Daugherity of Lake of Egypt Lori and William Mercer of Marion, IL Two Sons- Randy Strunk of Herrin, IL Brad Strunk of Hurst, IL Three Grandchildren- Rachael Gibbons of Herrin, IL Kaitlin Strunk of Lypan, TX Tate Mercer of Marion, IL Six Great Grandchildren-Lindsey, Colt, Hailey Jo, Shane, Savannah and Alecia Several nieces and nephews James was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters- Oreida Bailey, Lanta Butkus, and Beulah Carneghi. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Bob McKnight officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
