James L. Wallace, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11 P.M. surrounded by his loving family. James was born September 24, 1929 in Omaha, Illinois the son of Albert H. & Veva G. (Blackard) Wallace. He married Charlene Joanne Hibbard on June 26, 1949 in Galesburg, Illinois and together they have shared over 63 years of marriage. He proudly served his country in the US Army. James retired from Outboard Marine Products in Galesburg. He was a member of the Heartland Christian Church of Marion. In addition to his wife Joanne, he is survived by his; Two sons; Steven Wallace of New Baden, Illinois Mark Wallace and wife Cherie of Sierra Vista, Arizona Two daughters; Sarah Spencer and husband Nick of Marion Betty Bennett and husband Dave of Farmington, Illinois Six Grandchildren; Matthew Spencer, Jessica Spencer, Justin Wallace, James Spencer, Mera Bennett-Spencer, Meleighe Wallace Great Granddaughter Natylee Yerk Two brothers; Charles A. Wallace of Palm Springs, California Sam J. Wallace of Sparta Sister Mary Ann Bosaw of Omaha, Illinois Sister-in-law Imogene West of Omaha, Illinois Preceded by his Parents, Two Grandchildren, One Great Grandchild, Four Sisters and Two Brothers. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on Monday, January 14, 2012 at Heartland Christian Church in Marion with Pastor Greg Gibbs officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. on Monday in Palestine Cemetery in Omaha. Military rites will presented by the National Guard Detail Unit and members of the Ridgeway VFW. Visitation will be Monday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at the church. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Heartland Christian Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church the day of the service and also at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
