Crab Orchard James Lester Les Hall, 82, passed away on Monday, June 05, 2006 at 12:05 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Les was born March 5, 1924 to Raymond and Ida (Williams) Hall in Saline County. He married Betty Pulley on December 31, 1947 in Piggot, AR and she preceded him in death on September 17, 1999. He later married Valerie Frey in Nashville, TN and she survives in Marion. Les worked as a coal miner for 44 years. He was a farmer. He was a WWII veteran who served in the Pacific Ocean. Les was a member of Center Baptist Church in Crab Orchard. He was a loving Father, Husband, Brother and Uncle and a good family man. He also loved to ride horses. Survivors include: Wife Valerie Hall of Crab Orchard Daughter Cheryl Bascom and husband Noel of Springfield, MO Son Dale Hall and his friend Kathy and her son of Nixa, MO Step Daughter Heidi Williams and husband Jamie of Marion Step Son Ryan Williams of Crab Orchard Grandchildren: Michelle Shear and husband Michael of Springfield, MO Nicky Bascom of Springfield, MO Clinton Hall of Nixa, MO Ashyton Hall of Nixa, MO Great Grandchildren Garrett Shear of Springfield, MO Step Grandchildren: Elaney Williams of Marion Paige Williams of Norris City Carley Orlovich of Marion Sisters: Lela Fay Akins of Galatia Ina Mae & Charles Harris of Galitia Sister-in-laws: Virginia Hall Letha Hall Jane Hall Janice Hall Wanda Spicer Mother-in-law Violet Meadows Frey of Marion Brother-in-law Joe and Anita Frey of Marion Sister-in-law Carol Murphy, and Cheryl and Rick Moss all of Marion Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews Preceded by Parents, First Wife Betty, Four Brothers Raymond Edward Ed Hall, Floyd Harvey Hall, Harold Eugene Gene Hall, Stanley Ray Hall Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Joe Akins officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by Marions VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
