James V. Tanner, 81, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 3:52 P.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
James was born November 27, 1926 the son of Rufus and Marenda (Motsinger) Tanner in Dykersberg. He married Edith Bundren on June 22, 1946 in New Dennison and together they have shared over 62 years of marriage.
J.V. was a faithful member of Arnold View Free Will Baptist Church in Creal Springs for over 50 years. J.V. worked for Old Ben #24 Coal Company, as a roof bolter and retired after working for over 50 years.

Preceded by Parents, Two Sisters Geneva Hill and Blanche Clarida, Infant Brother.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 5, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ivan Ryan and Rev. Gordon Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
