Herrin- James W. Jimmy Triplett, 53, of Herrin, died at 2:40 PM, Friday, January 9, 2004 at Herrin Hospital.
Jimmy was born on December 15, 1950 in Herrin to James Clarence & Susie (Stacey) Triplett. He was self employed, taking care of lawns, and could often be seen with his lawn mower walking, or hitchhiking, between Energy and Herrin. The family, on behalf of Jimmy, would like to extend their sincere appreciation for all who stopped to pick him up. As Jimmy would say; Thanks a lot!
He enjoyed playing penny ante poker and was up for a game at a moments notice. Earlier in his life he spent a lot of time on the CB radio, where he was known as Bradley. He spent the last few years of his life with his sister Betty, who he helped take care of.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Arthur, Charles & Laverne Triplett and two sisters; Beatrice Morris & Delores Triplett.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 12, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Terry Griffith will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of service, Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
