JAMIE ORR, age 32, of Louisville, KY, passed away at 3:30pm on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the University of Louisville Hospital due to injuries sustained in an accident.
Jamie was born November 12, 1975 the son of Rev. Ron E. & Gail (Ewan) Orr in Eldorado.
Jamie was a 1993 graduate of Harrisburg High School, graduating in 1997 from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky with a B.S. in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He was a member of Kappa Omega Zeta Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and 3rd Baptist Church of Marion. He was currently working as an Environmental Health & Safety Officer at Graphic Packaging (Altivity) in Louisville. He held a green belt in Six Sigma.
In addition to his parents Jamie is survived by one brother- Steven Orr and fiance Catherine McCall of Washington, D.C., Aunts Karen Potter and husband Vernon of Harrisburg, Carla Hankins and husband Ken of Galatia, Vickie Johnson and husband Lindell of Carrier Mills.
Preceded by Paternal Grandparents Thomas & Virginia Orr and Maternal Grandparents Carl & Mary Ewan.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Second Baptist Church in Herrin. Dr. Jerry Ford & Rev. David Gilley will officiate. A luncheon will be served beginning at 11:30 A.M. at the church; the family is encouraging everyone to attend. Burial will follow at the North American Cemetery in Saline County. Visitation will be from 5-9:00 PM, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
