Janet Faye Ansinelli

Janet Faye Ansinelli, age 75, of Herrin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born in Herrin on May 26, 1943, to Roy and Thelma (O’Brien) Lavender. She went on to marry John Ansinelli on June 15, 1960 and together they have shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Janet and her husband were co-owners of Red Top Liquor in Herrin, where together they enjoyed visiting with their loyal customers. She enjoyed spending time with all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After retirement they enjoyed many afternoons taking long drives in their convertible. Janet is survived by her husband- John Ansinelli of Herrin Three Daughters- Deborah (Tony) Patton of Perryville, Maryland Kathy (Mark) Gibson of Herrin Valarie (Joe) Fountain of Milton, Florida Grandchildren - Sam English, Toni Kemmerer, Chris Patton, Kailee Maciulla, Kassie Hughes, Nicholas, Trenton, and John Ladd, Jacob Gibson, Alexa and Grace Fountain and 13 great grandchildren Two Brothers- Roy and Sharon Lavender of Energy Jim Lavender of Carbondale Sister- Pam Neathery Sister-in-law- Betty Lavender of Energy Brother-in-law- Rusty and Carol Ansinelli of Herrin Sister-in-law- Nancy and Billy Woodhouse of Herrin Sister-in-law- Vivian Ansinelli of Carterville She was preceded in death by her parents, loving daughter- Toni Renee Ladd, Brother- Dennis Lavender, and Brother-in-law- Joe Ansinelli. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Jason McKinnies officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 11am until the time of service on Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
