Janet Gay Whitehead

Marion- Janet Gay Whitehead, 68, of Marion, passed away at 8:15 PM, Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Marion Rehab and Care Center. Janet was born on February 6, 1947 in Harrisburg to William and Helen (Connett) Furlow.  She married Dale Whitehead on December 5, 1969 in Spillertown.  He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker who loved and cared for her children and grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. She was a current member of Third Baptist Church in Marion.  She was formerly an active member of Spillertown Baptist Church and was a member of the Sunshine Circle.  In her spare time, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time outdoors. Survivors include- Son- Chad Whitehead and wife Sara of Marion Daughter- Katie Denton and husband Brad of Marion Grandchildren- Kylee, Kenley and Kooper Denton of Marion Sister- Anita Evrard and husband Link of Marion Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Jonathon Whitehead and sister- Delores Groves. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.  Rev. Kenny Blumenstock will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
