Pittsburg- Janet Irene Shepard, age 65, of Pittsburg, passed away at 1:20am on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Janet was born in Chicago on June 29, 1953, the daughter of Renold and Vlasta (Krikova) Saxelin. She married Ronald Shepard in Wisconsin on October 26, 1973. He survives in Pittsburg. Janet was a homemaker. She will missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son- Ronald Shepard of Creal Springs Son- Daniel Shepard of Marion Daughter- Patricia Shepard of Marion Six grandchildren- Kaitlyn, Haley, Ryan, Madison, Easton, and Faith Shepard Sister- Darlene and Rick Slagle of Boston, Massachusetts Sister-Donna Keiken of Oak Lawn, IL Sister-in-law- Janet and Mike Warner of Thawville, IL Sister-in-law- Bonnie and Jeff Schubert of Arlington, TX She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services to celebrate Janet’s life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. A time of visitation will be held from noon until 2pm at the funeral home on Saturday. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Breast Center of Southern Illinois Healthcare in Carterville.
