Janie Alene Jones

Herrin- Janie Alene Jones, 85, of Herrin, passed away at 1:30 AM, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Herrin Hospital. Janie was born on March 4, 1925 in Herrin to Allen & Hanna (Miller) Hobbs. She was retired after having worked many years as a secretary in various locations. She was Baptist and enjoyed riding horses and playing golf and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include- Sister- Marjorie Spaulding of Shell Lake, WI Nephew- Lloyd Mackey of Des Plaines Close friend- LaVon Criner of Herrin Several nieces, nephews and cousins She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters. A memorial service was held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Brent Fitzgerald officiated. Memorial donations are suggested to a charity of the donors choice and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St./ Herrin, IL 62948.
