Marion-Jannetta Jewell South-91, On Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 3:40 p.m. at her residence with her family by her side God received the blessing when he called her home.
On August 5, 1913 in Marion, Henry and Clara (Groves) Sutton was blessed with a baby girl. She married Theodore John McKinley South on November 16, 1934 in Marion. Six children were born from this union. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1980.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Lawrence Ray South, two daughters Alta Kay & Ida Marie South, step son James South, granddaughter Kimberly Jennings, seven sisters Verna Clark, Pearl Clendenin, Margaret Michael, Susanna Threlkeld, Edna Durham, Bessie Purdue and Ida Spiller, two brothers Harry & Miles Sutton.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Herrin. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Smith & Rev. Maurice Absher officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The First Church of God in Herrin has prepared a dinner for family and friends concluding the committal service.
Family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, First Church of God of Herrin or to the charity of the donors choice.
