Jean Constance (Bierwirth) Bornt passed through Heaven's Gate on July 1, 2023 at the age of 96 to join her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and all her loved ones who had gone on before.
Jean was born September 27, 1926 in the upstate NY village of Petersburg in the Taconic Mountains, the first child of the late Otto and Esther (Church) Bierwirth. Her Church ancestors settled on the shores of America in 1640. She was married on June 30, 1947 to her late husband Bazil O. Bornt in Hoosick Falls NY.
She was predeceased by brothers James, Thomas, and John.
She is survived by her sister Patience Dougherty of Hoosick Falls, NY, her son Daniel, daughter Susanne (Everett) Oaks, her granddaughter Amanda (Buddy) Prairie and great-grandson Everett Prairie, all of Herrin IL.
Bazil and Jean and family moved from Hoosick Falls to Hudson FL in 1967. She then moved to Champaign IL in 2000, and Herrin IL in 2020. Jean was a member of the NSDAR and a fiber artist who crocheted many beautiful items, including afghans, butterflies, doilies, and hanging decorations. She maintained daily diaries that covered a period of 66 years continuously to the present. She enjoyed facebooking, cooking, baking, her many flowers, and most of all her family, whom she loved dearly.
Her cheerful smile and encouraging words will be sorely missed by all.
