Marion- Jean E. Haught, 74, of Marion, passed away at 11:30 AM, Monday, April 13, 2009 at her home in Marion. Jean was born on July 1, 1934 in Carbondale to Ira & Ruby (Laffoon) Batson. She was retired after working many years for area industries. Jean was protestant and loved crocheting, quilting and riding motorcycles with her husband when she was younger. She most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include- Daughter- April West of Marion Son- Vernon Haught of Creal Springs Seven grandchildren: Lee Haught & wife Jeri of Johnston City Casey Riley & husband Sean of Johnston City Eric Haught of Marion David Haught & wife Rose of Marion Vernon Haught of Marion Andrea West of Marion Angela Haught of Creal Springs Five Great Grandchildren: Julia Herzog Nicole Herzog Taylor Riley Hunter Riley Angel Riley Sister- Ivern Smith of Herrin Brother- Raymond Laffoon & wife Nancy of Carbondale Brother- Fred Kilmer & wife Mary of Goreville Sister- Velma Smith & husband Larry of Leesburg, FL Several nieces & nephews Beloved Dog- Charlie She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, James Phillips Haught, Son- James Phillip Haught, grandchildren- Tonya Yvonne Haught & James Phillip Haught, Jr & brother- Charles Ray Laffoon. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 17, 2009 at Abundant Life Assemblies of God Church in Marion. Rev. Jeff Baker will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. A time of gathering will begin at 1:00 PM and extend until time of service, Friday, at the church. Memorial arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
