Herrin- JENNIE IRENE FIELD, age 87, of Herrin, passed away surrounded by all her children at 2:50pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at her home in Herrin, IL.
Jennie was born in Belvidere, IL on September 30, 1919, the daughter of Michael J. and Ruby Hazel (McCoy) Tyler. She married Clark Lewis Field in Rochelle, IL on December 20, 1952. They shared 41 years of marriage, until his passing on August 13, 1994.
Jennie was respected and loved by her family and friends and was the first to say she had lived a long and happy life. Her body was tired and showed her age, but her mind was sharp, clear, and still quick-witted until only days ago. Her unique sense of humor has brought laughs to all those who knew her over the years. She spent the last 30 years volunteering at various places and enjoying her hobbies, especially painting and writing poetry, for which she won several awards. She was a member of the Adams Street Baptist Church in Herrin, and was ready to meet her Lord and Savior; ready to walk the golden streets of Heaven with family and friends that had passed before her as she had always imagined.
Jennie loved and enjoyed her six children and all their accomplishments. Survivors include two sons and three daughters and their spouses: Larry Clark Field and Linda of Herrin, IL; Robert Clark Field and Ann of Benton, IL; Marjorie Kay Boozer and Jim of Marion, IL; Linda Rae Field and Larry of Herrin, IL; and Mary Frances Freeman and Dale of Auburn, WA. Grandchildren include six granddaughters: Peggy Sue, Gail Marie, Yavonne, Angelique, Jennie, and Erin; and five grandsons: Sheldon, Larry Jr. (Rusty), Jonathon, Dale Jr. (DJ), and Jimmie. Great grandchildren include seven great granddaughters- Alyssa, Candis, Chenoa, Tasha, Amy Irene, Constance, & Krysta; and seven great grandsons- Quinton, Zachary, Dustin, Toren, Matthew, Vincent, and Julian. Great great grandchildren include two great great grandsons: Tyler and Kaleb. Also surviving are two sisters- Marge Krussell of Beloit, WI and Sarah Violet Hail of Keenes, IL.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Hazel; her son, Gale Carter; three brothers, Freddie, Gene and Dale; one sister, Josephine; and her beloved husband, Clark.
