Jerry Lee Webb

Christopher- Jerry L. Webb, Sr., 68, of Christopher, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 5:16 AM, Sunday, April 7, 2013 at St. Mary’s HealthCenter in St. Louis, MO.  Jerry was born on May 21, 1944 in Bush to Leslie M. & Lyda Velma (Duke) Webb.   He began his career working at Norge in Herrin, but retired from mining, as the buggy driver, after working 20 years at Rend Lake Consol Coal Mine. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Association and of protestant faith.   Jerry was a talented woodworker who specialized in cabinetry and furniture.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.  Survivors include-  Son- Lee Webb and wife Kerry of Marion Daughter- Danita Webb of Evansville, IN Son- Daniel Webb and wife Jamie of Evansville, IL Five Grandchildren:                 Brock and Karlee Webb                 Liam and Ethan Webb                 Jessica Springer Sister- Judy Ballard and husband Bob of Bush  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister- Betty Mayers.  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Rev. Carl Mann II will officiate.  Burial will follow at BlairsvilleCemetery.  Visitation will be from Noon until time of service, Wednesday, at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL   62948.  For more information or to sign the memorial guest register, please visit www.hughesfuneralhomes.com.
