Herrin- Jewel M. Finney, 81, of Herrin, died at 6:40 PM, Thursday, December 19, 2002 at Herrin Hospital.
Jewel was born on April 6, 1921 in Herrin to James Harrison & Julia Ethel (Boyd) Finney. They preceded her in death.
Miss Finney retired from the Bank of Herrin where she worked as a teller for 30 years and two months. She formerly worked at the Boy Scout Council in Herrin. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Herrin and was secretary in the Women's Club. She read the Bible daily and cared for her family members. Family and church were her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Geneva Jones, Ethel Vaughn, and Helen M. Wamsley, and two brothers; Leslie E. & James Harrison Finney, Jr., and twin brother, Harold Ray Finney.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 23, 2002 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Lee Lovett will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9:00 PM, Sunday, December 22, 2002 at the funeral home.
