Jewell F. Tanner

Creal Springs Jewell F. Tanner, 84, passed way on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 1:13 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Jewell was born May 8, 1923 in Williamson County to Raymond & Lucille (Klope) McGuire. She married Paul Tanner in Kentucky on June 1, 1939 and together they shared over 48 years of marriage until his death on November 4, 1987. Jewell & Paul had two children a son, Terry and a daughter Doris. After the death of Calvin & Daisy Glenn, who were cousins of Paul & Jewell, they raised their children Calvin Glenn, Jr. and Joan Emery. Jewell was a homemaker and a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include: Daughter Doris Odum and husband Dewey of Creal Springs Daughter-in-law Loretta Tanner of Crab Orchard Calvin Glenn, Jr. Spillertown Joan Emery - Marion Seven Grandchildren: Kimberly White & husband Herb of Johnston City Shawn Tanner of Crab Orchard Kristie Rix and husband Jason of Creal Springs Rodney Emery of Marion Michelle Emery of Marion Steve Glenn of Harrisburg Adena Hayden of Creal Springs Eleven Great Grandchildren Two Great Great Grandchildren Preceded by Parents, Husband, Paul Tanner, Son, Terry Tanner, Three Brothers, Kenneth McGuire, Floyd McGuire, Laverne McGuire Funeral services will be Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Jerry Schell officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant (Shed) Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
