Jim Childers

Marion- James "Jim" Paul Childers, age 75, of Marion, passed away at 4:00am on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Marion. James was born on October 1, 1931 in Carbondale, the son of Paul and Kathleen (Rendleman) Childers. He married Lois Jean Fuller in Marion on April 4, 1958. She survives in Marion. Mr. Childers was retired from the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Lois Jean Childers of Marion; one son and daughter-in-law- Jeff and Verla Childers of Marion; one daughter and son-in-law- Diane and Charles Bragg of West Frankfort; one brother- Ronnie Childers of Vermont. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. In accordance with the family's wishes, private graveside services will be held. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is serving the family.
