Joe L. Capogreco

Carterville- Joe L. Capogreco, 71, of Carterville, died at 12:30 AM, Friday, July 11, 2003 at Herrin Hospital. Joe was born on May 24, 1932 in Herrin to Domenick Leo & Carmela Nelly (Martell) Capogreco. He was a US Army Veteran and was stationed in Alaska He was a farmer; taking care of 300 acres of corn, soybeans, and milo. He enjoyed spending time in his garden. SURVIVORS: Daughter- Lisa Smith- Marion Two Grandchildren Brother- Adam Capogreco- Royalton Brother- Eddie Capogreco- St. Louis, MO Special Friends- Jim Riggs & Jim Reid Many other friends in the area He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Orlando Capogreco. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 14, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Sanders will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Military Rites will be performed at the graveside by the Herrin VFW & American Legion Posts. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Sunday, July 13, 2003 at the funeral home.
