Marion John B. Simmons, 80, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 12:05 P.M. at Parkway Manor in Marion.
John was born January 17, 1932 in Cobden the son of Abe and Genevieve (Miner) Simmons. He married Marie DeFrank on January 31, 1953 in Marion and together they have shared over 59 years of marriage. She survives in Marion.
He proudly answered the call to serve his nation in the Army during the Korean Conflict. John attended Community Chapel Church and he retired from E.N. Baker in 1994 after 30 years. He loved to goose hunt and had a great love of the outdoors.

Preceded by his Parents, Two Brothers Billy Dean and Don Simmons and Sister Josephine Tucker.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 29, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Don Colson and Rev. Frank Starrick officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by members of Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and the National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
