Marion-John S. Baker, 91, died 6:50 A.M., Monday, July 4th at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
John was born April 20, 1914 to George & Lucy Jane (Blades) Baker in Marion. He married Mary Virginia Collins on October 09, 1933 in Murphysboro and together they shared almost 69 years of marriage until her death on June 26, 2002.
John retired from CIPS as a truck driver and digger operator. He was a member of Warder Street Baptist Church in Marion and IBEW Local 702.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 07, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Mr. Bakers Grandson Dr. Charles Baker officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
For those who prefer memorials may be given to Warder Street Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
