Herrin - John Nasser, 78, died at 9:55 a. m. June 11, 2002 at his residence.
Mr. Nasser was born September 1, 1923 in Herrin to David and Mary (Koury) Nasser.
He married Jean Irene (Sollis) October 1, 1982 in New Jersey. She survives.
He was a carpenter with Local Union #623 before his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. He was a WWII U. S. Army Veteran where he served as a Medic. He was a member of the Herrin VFW and American Legion.

His parents, one infant son, 1 brother and 4 sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2002 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Msg. Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 a. m. to the time of service at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Arrangements by Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
Memorials may be made to OLMC Renovation Fund and will be accepted at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
