John L. Jackson

March 18, 1938 — March 24, 2021

John Jackson, 83, died Wednesday evening March 24, 2021 at his home with his family by his bedside.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Shelba (Evrard) Jackson.  His sons Mark Dismang, Donnie (Sandy) Dismang, Ronnie (Angie) Dismang and a daughter Christina Brookshire Albright.

John was the proud grandparent of his three grandchildren, Travis Beck, Zachery Brookshire and Jennifer Pratt.  He also had five step grandchildren, Shirah (Jeremey) Harmiling, Miranda (Josiah) Serati, Leigha Dismang, Darrin Dismang, Ryan Dismang.  Four great grandchildren, Myah Beck, Kaylee Beck, Ethan Beck, Daman Pratt.  Two step great grandchildren Isla Harmiling and Mena Serati.

John was born in Eldorado the son of Haskell and Margaret Jackson.  He had two brothers, Harland Jackson and Glen Jackson, two sisters Rosemary Ticer and Sondra (Jerry) Loyd and several nieces and nephews.

John worked for Olin Corporation for 27 years, worked under contract for Primex Corporation for 3 years and 13 years for McDonald Aircraft.  He loved fishing and racing with George Cullum. But most of all he loved spending time with his family whom he loved most dearly.

John was preceded in death by his son John Linden, parents Haskell & Margaret Jackson and brothers Harland Jackson and Glen Jackson.

John will be sadly missed by his family who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 1 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Elder Larry Motsinger and Elder Matt Bruno officiating.  Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday from 11 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

Due to health concerns due to the COVID-19 virus social distancing will be encouraged and the wearing of masks will be required.
