John O. Angstmann

West Frankfort- JOHN OWENS ANGSTMANN, age 84, of West Frankfort, formerly of Marion, passed away at 9:03am on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Frankfort Care Center in West Frankfort, IL. John was born in Chicago on January 11, 1925, the son of Ralph and Ellen (Owens) Angstmann. He married Kathleen Keating in Chicago on October 9, 1954. They shared fifty-four years of marriage. She survives in West Frankfort. Survivors include his wife- Kathleen Angstmann of West Frankfort, IL Son- John Thomas Angstmann of Downers Grove, IL Sister- Rosemary Angstmann of Grayslake, IL Sister- Dorothy Fitzgibbons of Grayslake, IL Brother and Sister-in-law- Ralph and Joyce Angstmann of Marion, IN Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters- Marie Meister, Violet Justice, and Alice Sutula. Mr. Angstmann was a member of the St. Johns Catholic Church in West Frankfort. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific Theatre. John was a retired supervisor for the Illinois Bell Company in Salem. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with Father Richard Mohr officiating.
