HERRIN- John Phillip Wolff, age 59, of Herrin, passed on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at St. Anthonys Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 6:00pm Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Christian Life Center in Herrin. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, February 18, 2006, also at the Christian Life Center. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery with military rites performed by Herrins American Legion and VFW Posts. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is handling the arrangements. John was born on August 13, 1946 in Eldorado, Illinois to Rosemary H. (Hall) Wolff and Kenneth Wolff. He married Gayle Ferrari in Herrin on September 18, 1971. She survives in Herrin. John was a Marine Corps veteran with a tour in Vietnam. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and currently worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Carbondale. John was a Christian and a member of the Christian Life Center in Herrin. He was an avid jogger, but some of his favorite past times were watching his son, Bryan, play and later coach baseball. He loved spending time with his family, especially his two wonderful grandsons, Jaxon and Dylan. Survivors include: His loving wife- Gayle (Ferrari) Wolff- Herrin, IL One son and daughter-In-Law- Bryan K. and Jenny Wolff- Herrin, IL Two Grandsons- Jaxon B. and Dylan K. Wolff- Herrin, IL Father-In-Law- Robert Ferrari Mother-In-Law- Lovean Barnich and husband George Sisters-In-Law- Carol Ferrari and Patricia Ferrari-Janszky and family Brother-In-Law- Keith Ferrari and family Many other special relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Hall Wolff, his grandparents- Clarence and Anne Hall, one aunt and uncle- Winfield and Meta Hall, all of Ridgeway, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Song Ministries, the Christian Life Center Building Fund, or Saluki Baseball.
