John Robert Bissey

John Robert Bissey, age 68 of Herrin died on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Herrin Hospital.

John was born in Clay City, Illinois on January 10, 1951, the son of Kenneth Earl and Ada Bell (Patterson) Bissey.  He married Connie Absher on March 31, 1973 at the 1^st Baptist Church in Energy, Illinois and she survives.

John worked as a postal carrier for Carbondale, Illinois.

Wife- Connie Bissey of Herrin, Illinois

Son- Justin Bissey of Herrin, Illinois

Daughter- Sara Wenzel of Schiller Park, Illinois

Five grandchildren-

            Leah Bissey of Carterville, Illinois

            Lila Wenzel of Schiller Park, Illinois

            Justin Keith Bissey II of Granite City, Illinois

            Bennett Madej of Schiller Park, Illinois

            Drew Madej of Schiller Park, Illinois

Mother- Ada Bell Bissey

Sister- Janet and Ron Leist of Olney, Illinois

Brother- Norman and Dena Bissey of Olney, Illinois

Several nieces and nephews

Joint memorial services to celebrate the lives of Connie and John will be held at the Goddard Chapel in Rose Hill Cemetery at 1pm on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at Goddard Chapel. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
