John Kenneth. "Ken" Taylor, age 78, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Parkway Manor in Marion, Illinois.
Ken was born July 08, 1943 in West Frankfort, Illinois, the son of John T. and Geraldine "Geri" (Connell) Taylor. Ken grew up in the Chicago area. He attended college in Chicago and went on to become a licensed cosmetologist. He began his career working for Elizabeth Arden. During this time he was also a fashion model for a major magazine modeling agency. He continued working with Arden's in Chicago becoming an award winning stylist, winning the Arden's Best Award. He later worked for Arden's in San Francisco and New York salons. Ken came back to Southern Illinois and was a successful salon owner and hair replacement stylist in Marion for the past three decades. Ken was known for his genius with interior decorating. He also was a judge on State and National levels of beauty pageants with Miss High School America, Miss USA, and Miss America where he was a coach and hair and makeup stylist. Ken was very religious and held a deep relationship with God. In Ken's life, God was first and everything else came second. Ken loved to shop and he was loved and adored by everyone that knew him.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Geraldine "Geri" Taylor.
Per his request there will be no services. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
