Johnnie Simich

MARION- Johnnie Simich, age 76, of Marion, passed away at 8:18am on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Johnnie was born on October 12, 1929 in Franklin County, IL to Ignac and Bertha (Michelic) Simich. He married Joyce R. Lukens on June 30, 1961 in Herrin. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2003. Mr. Simich was a retired inspector for Maytag. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of the White Ash Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include- 2 Sons and Daughters-In-Laws- Jerry & Angela Simich- Marion, IL Jason & Melissa Simich- Marion, IL 1 Daughter- Linda Stewart- Carbondale, IL 6 Grandchildren- Rachel Stacy-Studio City, CA Elizabeth Stewart- Fremont, CA Matthew Stewart- Carbondale, IL Abigail Stewart- Carbondale, IL Brayden Simich- Marion, IL Jarod Simich- Marion, IL 5 Brother-In-Laws and Sister-In-Laws- Geary Lukens- Herrin, IL Virgil and Delene Lukens- Herrin, IL Lindell and Julie Lukens- Herrin, IL Sue and Jackie Boles- Marion, IL Karen and Terry Stone- Pittsburg, IL 1 Aunt- Eileen Michelic 2 cousins- Medra Motsinger Paul Allen Michelic Johnnie was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his brother, Steven. Funeral services for Mr Simich will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. Deon Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
