JoLinda Reimer, 76, of Marion passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Health One Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.
JoLinda was born June 6, 1937 in Chicago the only child of Wayne Gilbert Fox and Wanda (Vaught) Fox. Her mother Wanda was one of 13 children and the combination of the Fox and Vaught families resulted in a very large and loving family that is spread out across the country. Her extended family also includes the family in West Frankfort of her Step-Father Clifton Hill.
She married Robert H. “Bob” Reimer on August 17, 1963 in her Mother’s home in Robinson, Illinois and together they have been blessed with over 49 years of marriage.
She was a dedicated educator and a tireless volunteer. JoLinda retired from the Marion Unit 2 School System after 35 years of teaching and working with the Reading Recovery Program. She attended both the First Presbyterian Church and First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ of Marion. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.
JoLinda was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Friend.
Survivors include her; Husband – Robert “Bob” Reimer of Marion Two sons; Kevin Wayne Reimer of Harrisburg Todd Robert Reimer of Marion Grandson – Jacob Robert Reimer of Harrisburg
Preceded in death by her Parents and her Step-Father Clifton Hill
Funeral services will be Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion with Rev. Wade Halva and Rev. Bill Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Marion Medical Mission, The Lighthouse Shelter or the Marion Ministerial Alliance. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959 and at the church the day of the service.
