Jonathan Eric Shaffer, 23, of Creve Cour, Missouri formerly of Marion , passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2008 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Jonathan was born December 16, 1985 the son of Tom Shaffer and Sandra (Buckholdt) Shaffer in Munster, Indiana .
Jonny was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local # 1 in the St. Louis area where he was currently employed as an electrician for the TSI Company. He was held in high esteem by fellow members for his dedication, integrity, and skill.
He graduated from Johnson City High School in 2005 where he was an all-conference football player, and an accomplished wrestler. He enjoyed Little League Baseball as a child.
Jonny loved outdoor activities including camping, fishing, four-wheeling and water skiing. He was very much at home on the water. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially enjoying the natural beauty of southern Illinois.
During Jonnys spare time, he found enjoyment doing automotive work and dreaming about owning a Corvette, his favorite car. He also appreciated listening to music, watching sports, and being a Boy Scout.
Jonny will be remembered by he many who loved him for his strength, courage, and compassion for others.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at11:30 A.M. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 1500 East DeYoung in Marion with Pastor Marlin Otte officiating. The visitation will be held at the same church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
