Marion-Joseph Cannon, 92, passed away at 6:53am on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Joseph was born on August 13, 1923 in Carterville to Hershel and Iva Mae (Chitty) Cannon. He married Clara Eckols on August 12, 1946 in Marion. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2006.
Joseph served in the US Army in WWII. He was a member of Third Baptist Church, the VFW and the DAV. Joseph enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Darrell Cannon; brothers, Raymond Cannon and Gerald Cannon; and sisters, Janetta Kay Cannon
and Beverly Smithson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 1pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Kallem officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
